mur | mur is the outcome of a site-specific research project undertaken by sculpture and installation-based artists Emma Pinsent and Sadhbha Cockburn investigating the material resonances between their own practices and the Puzzle Gallery space. Drawn to the gridded holes of the gallery’s air vents, the artists question how the origins of walls may be traced back through acoustic, linguistic and material resonances.
Creases of sand
a softened friction;
bodies echoing walls.
The porous rub
where membranes meet,
skin and earth and floors.
Through site-responsive actions, interventions, and material reconfigurations, mur | mur peels back layers of the space. It considers how activations draw attention to the porous interfaces between bodies, architectures, and minerals.
